This contemporary cottage is derived from the popular plan 3875, and includes a space above the garage allowing the construction of an additional bedroom and family room – a bright and pleasing alternative to basement placement of a second family space.
On the ground floor, a spacious vestibule and generous closet says ‘welcome’ to all who arrive. The open floor plan provides flexibility in the main activities areas overlooking the rear of the house. The kitchen features plenty of storage opportunities, and expansive lunch island.
A small flight of stairs arrives at the space above the garage which we have proposed to be developed as a family room and fourth bedroom. The upper level includes two more bedrooms, family bathroom and master suite. Within the master suite, his and hers closets, a bathroom with double vanity, discreet toilet compartment and oversize shower are sure to please.
Of course, the exterior makes a bold statement with the use of mixed cladding materials and strong lines punctuated by symmetrical windows.
The plan includes an unfinished basement which could be developed to suit. Alternate foundations are available as well.

Wonderful design. I enjoy the mixed cladding materials. I wonder though, how large the garage is? It appears to be a two car.
Thanks for your comments. Yes, the attached garage is a two-car. This is the most commonly sought garage size. Of course, the plan could be modified to increase or decrease the size of the garage to suit the owners’ needs.
