It’s very tough to pick just one icon from all of the work of Isamu Noguchi, so I’m planning on sharing some of his other work, such as his oft-imitated lamps, in the future. I’d also love to share his playgrounds with you sometime (I’m lucky enough to have one a mile from my house). However, today we are going to concentrate on what is probably the most popular modern coffee table out there. In fact, according to the Noguchi Museum’s website, “late in his life the artist felt that it [the coffee table] was the only instance in which he had been wholly successful in the field of industrial design.” I suppose that helped my choice as well.
