Drummond House Plans’ designers developed plan 3117-V1 with a bachelor apartment in the basement to create a model that is sure to gain favor with those looking for a multigenerational or mortgage-helping home.

The main level offers two bedrooms with an increase in both width and depth of 2’ that permits the addition of a laundry area on the main floor and enough space for a computer desk in the corner of the living room. The third bedroom in the basement and a second living room, which can be used as a playroom for younger children or a home theater, is sure to be a welcome feature of this plan.

The exterior puts a pleasing face forward with a simple roofline, generous windows and attractive corbel detailing. The main level provides plenty of space for two vehicles (or one and lots of toys!) and the foyer is accessed either from within the garage or by the front entry. Hobbyists and outdoor enthusiasts will love the washroom on the main floor as well.

Upstairs, the main living area features an open concept with country kitchen, adjoining living area, two bedrooms with Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and even a laundry room. A deck off the middle landing of the stairs provides space for outdoor grilling or relaxation.

This bi-generational plan is a beautiful and elegant solution to multiple generation living while maintaining privacy for each unit.

The main level inlaw suite provides graceful living in a large living room, a beautiful kitchen/dinette with walk-in pantry, a master bedroom with large closet and a bathroom with integrated laundry area. A private covered patio completes this graceful suite.

The principle residence includes an open floor plan, ample windows and a corner office. This open living area spills onto an expansive deck which is partially covered to ensure maximum seasonal use. Two bedrooms share a generous a bathroom with independent shower 42×62” shower. A large workshop/storage and laundry room are located on the ground floor to the rear of the garage.

A central entry provides access to both dwellings as well as the garage.

While ideally suited as a bi-generational home, this home would also be attractive by providing a desirable income suite.

Each suite has a private entry and allows for easy access but independence of each suite. Of course, one should check with their municipality or planning department to ensure that secondary attached suites are allowed in local zoning.
