With its unique ‘Craftsman’ style and the use of stone, imitation cedar and angled columns to enhance the simple lines, the warm and inviting design of Marlowe 2 is hard to resist.

Once inside we are pleasantly surprised by the size of the entrance foyer closet and a conveniently located washroom/laundry area. The open, brightly lit living/dining area has a three sided fireplace which adds to the cozy feeling of this home. The kitchen with its ample storage space boasts a large island that is sure to be a favorite gathering place for family members and visitors alike.

Upstairs, a service door from the garage is perfectly aligned with the stairs to the basement.

The bedrooms are surprising not only because of their generous size but for the abundant closet space, which includes a walk-in for the master bedroom and a linen closet off of the two secondary bedrooms. The well appointed bathroom on the upper level boasts a separate 54” x 40” shower that is a much sought after feature by today’s owners.

Inspired by 3407, the comfortable sized foyer and spacious closet of plan 3470 are adjacent to a home office.
The open concept is enhanced by a view of the fireplace from the kitchen/living and dining areas. A large kitchen island and a walk-in pantry are some of the surprising features of this contemporary styled home.
At the heart of the main level is the wide staircase, open on two floors, that offers the convenience of a powder room/laundry area on the same level as the garage.

From the most popular modifications to plan 3235 has evolved model 3235-V2 which our designer has developed meet the needs of many of its future buyers.The main feature is the relocation of the staircase that adds almost two feet to the width of the garage and nearly three feet to the living room’s width thus permitting the addition of a corner fireplace.

The change from three bedrooms to two offers space for a laundry area on the main floor that’s complete with storage and a counter. The kitchen’s unique styling offers ample counter space and a full width island. The bathroom boasts a larger shower and the attractive covered terrace, accessible from the dining room, is sure to please.

The curb appeal of this home is enhanced by the addition of stone work on the front face and the darker shades of doors and windows add a dramatic touch.

Inspired by plan 2955 this new design adds a contemporary feel to the exterior and a unique style which combines a carport beneath a vast terrace the gives the occupants a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery.
The main foyer of model 3966 has ample closet space and the service entrance foyer is perfect for the family that enjoys outdoor sports as it opens onto a large, walk-in closet/mudroom and laudry area.
The two secondary bedrooms and separate game room on the first level offer an independant living space which is sure to be a hit with the teenagers in the family.

The second floor is accessible form both inside and outside the home. The large 84″ x 40″ central island in the kitchen and the fireplace in the living room add charm to the central living area of this beautiful home. The master bedroom on this level, with its walk-in closet and well appointed bathroom, offer added intimacy.

The fireplace was long ago rendered obsolete as a primary home heating source, yet it remains a favorite gathering place. A flickering fire—wood or even gas—is a comfort, and an invitation to relax.

But the hearth has also endured because of the wooden mantel that typically frames it. A mantel serves not only as an architectural anchor in a room but as a functional shelf on which to display prized possessions. That’s why so many of them still grace the parlors, dining rooms, and bedrooms of old houses even when the fireboxes have been walled over to eliminate drafts.

For every surviving example, of course, there are dozens that were torn from walls during reckless remodels. Luckily, many discarded mantels have ended up at architectural salvage yards, where renovators can now buy them to restore what may have been removed by a previous owner or to add period detail to a new house.

Following recurring requests for the addition of a garage to popular model 2957 and an adjustment to the kitchen to best relate to the new garage, we are pleased to provide this new and improved DrummondHousePlans interpretation of a perennial favourite.

Outside, the addition of a garage balances nicely with the main body of the house and the rear of the house retains the charm of the original model.

Inside, the kitchen faces the rear yard allowing for the placement of a wonderful master suite on the main level, complete with private bathroom, double closets and view of the rear via two french doors. The large and open activities area is bathed in light thanks to abundant windows and further enhanced by a dramatic vaulted ceiling and fireplace which are also shared by the adjoining dining room. The impressive kitchen with center island allows easy access to the back deck. The ground level amenities are completed by a laundry area and guest bathroom in a discreet location.
