Original model 3235 is a longtime favourite but we often receive requests for changes to the floorplan. This updated alternate version includes one less bedroom on the main level but includes greater comfort in the living areas.

A generous covered entry and open foyer welcomes guests. The living room is bathed in light thanks to a vaulted ceiling and palladian window by day and warmed by the glow of the fireplace by night. An open galley kitchen forms the command centre of the living area, easily relating to the dining room and living room. When we talk about a popular bungalow, we have to mention our plan 2294 from www.drummondhouseplans.com. This plan has been popular throughout North America, often with subtle modifications.

The major difference on this model is that the front elevation is almost entirely covered with brick. Inside, we have added almost 50 sq.ft to the activity area and more than 60 sq.ft to the garage to accommodate a staircase for direct basement access.

Additional noticeable changes are the change to an open concept, divided only by the addition of a three-sided fireplace. The kitchen has been enhanced with the addition of an island and walk-in pantry. The bathroom has an added independant 46″ x 50″ shower.

Finally, the washer-dryer is now positioned on the main level for single-storey convenience, as often requested.

Following a survey offering three different proposed models we were pleased to have 450 respondents and many comments. With our web viewers’ input, Drummond has launched two single-storey plans with contemporary interiors.

This model generated a great deal of excitement with a footprint ideal for higher density developments (38 ft. wide by 48 ft. deep with attached 20 ft. x 14 ft. garage).

A sleek contemporary roofline, and facade of brick and wood results in a contemporary yet timeless look. Inside, an open floor plan is oriented toward the back yard for privacy.

This model also offers lots of amenities such as the 5 foot wide entry closet, direct garage access, generous kitchen with island and excellent storage. The activities areas boast ample windows.

Two good size bedrooms share a bathroom complete with bath and separate 64” x 44” shower. A laundry closet provides a privacy screen to the bedrooms and convenience where it is needed!

Similar to the popular Drummond model 2192, this plan takes a more traditional or “craftsman” approach to design. This is achieved with a simplified exterior and plenty of windows in the dining room, as well as natural materials such as a combination of stone-veneer clad walls and the shingle siding which softly contrasts to the stone.

Inside, we find a flowing semi-open activity area, with the living room highlighted by a partially vaulted ceiling to capture light from the arched feature window. The kitchen with island is within easy reach of a charming dining area which is surrounded by windows on three sides. The bedroom area is separate from the main living area and boasts two comfortable bedrooms including a forward-oriented master bedroom with large closet. The bathroom features a corner shower and independent bath.

Effectively double the efficient 1068 square feet of living space by developing the unfinished basement.
